Entry qualification | Bachelor diploma (or higher) Open access with entry requirements. Admission to the Master’s Degree Programme in Data Science is subject to the possession of specific curricular requirements and to the adequacy of personal preparation verified by an Evaluation Committee through admission interviews. To be admitted to the Master’s degree programme it is necessary to hold a Bachelor’s Degree. ● Computer Science; Candidates will be admitted to the interviews if: a) they have obtained (or are in the process of obtaining) a Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s Degree) belonging to one of the following degree disciplines with a 3/4 GCPA or higher: - Computer Science; OR: b) che siano in possesso di (o stiano per conseguire) una laurea (o laurea magistrale) appartenente a they hold (or are in the process of obtaining) a Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s Degree) belonging to a class other than those mentioned above, obtained with a 3/4 CGPA or higher, and have acquired, within the total of 30 ECTS in the academic disciplines previously listed: - at least 6 ECTS in courses belonging to Statistics or Operational Research; AND - at least 6 ECTS in courses belonging to Computer Science or Computer Science and Engineering. During the admission interview the Evaluation Committee may suggest to candidates the opportunity of attending in-depth disciplinary courses. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Italian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. |

Overview
The Master’s Degree in Data Science is part of the Class of Master Degrees in Information Society; it lasts two years and is awarded with 120 ECTS. Twelve exams are enivisaged, corresponding to 90 ECTS. Seven exams are held in the first year, and five exams in the second year. Remaining credits will be acquired in terms of a stage and the final thesis.
The master is freely accessible to graduate students, subject to having been previously earned 30 ETCS in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics.
The language of the master degree is English.
At the end of the period, a Master’s Degree in Data Science is earned. The goal of the degree is to provide graduate students, who are coming from different scientific backgrounds, with advanced competences and skills required for the value-driven analysis of large amount of data (so called big data) using cutting-edge statistical techniques and computational models.
The degree is targeted to graduate students who have a background in different scientific domains, ranging from Natural Sciences to Social Sciences and Economics. It is designed to have a solid basis in Statistics and Computer science but also a strong multidisciplinary characterization in juridical, social and economic issues.
